It’s a Tuesday afternoon
I’m sitting in my room
As the sunshine pours through my window
The cars are passing by
The busy old wind sounds a sigh
I’m overwhelmed with emotion
The freedom of my youth

The way you look at me
The way you sit and be
I watch with inspiration
As I daydream
You remind me of who I am
You tell me that I can
And I like the way you make me feel
The freedom of my youth

All these things ahead of me
All theses things unknown
Memories of exploring
And the ways in which I’ve grown
I’m still here but nearly there
In a world of ‘in-betweens’
Un-pealing secret layers
Unveiling my new seems

I question things I’m meant to say
Instead I sit and pray
I search for my own path
I listen deep within
I learn to walk before I run
I study hard and earn my fun
But nothing’s set in stone
This is the freedom of my youth

I’m following my own heart
I’m ready for a new start
I’m going where the wind blows
And everywhere along the way
I keep my goals all clear in sight
And I keep my suitcase light
I’m open for persuasion
This is the freedom of my youth

All these things ahead of me
All theses things unknown
Memories of exploring
And the ways in which I’ve grown
I’m still here but nearly there
In a world of ‘in-betweens’
Un-pealing secret layers
Unveiling my new seems

I’m following my own heart
And I’m ready for a new start
I’m going where the wind blows
And everywhere along the way
I keep my goals all clear in sight
And I keep my suitcase light
I’m open for persuasion
This is the freedom of my youth
